Monadnock Community Hospital was honored at the NHHA's annual meeting when it was named recipient of the HEAL NH Award for promoting active living and healthy eating.

The hospital was cited for its focus on employee wellness, innovation in the realm of patient care such as the 45,000-square-foot Bond Wellness Center, and community-level activities such as its annual Health & Wellness Festival, its Heart Smart Fitness Program, the award-winning "Healthy Teeth to Toes" initiative for children and its participation in the national Healthier Hospitals Initiative.

The award-winning hospital supports their 700 employees with numerous health and wellness opportunities, including access to health assessments, fitness facility, and weight management classes. The healthy environment they have created for their caregivers helps employees prioritize their own health while fostering an environment of greater teamwork and sense of community.

Recognizing that their community needs encouragement to live a healthy lifestyle, and that healthy choices speed up a patient's recovery, healthy choices are presented and encouraged at each stage of patients' care.  Ranging from an outdoor marketplace to a healing arts gallery, and offering wellness choices on the menu, the community is sure to find something that will support their needs.  Standing out is the 45,000 foot medically based fitness center that not only supports fitness needs, but has been perceived as a healthy social gathering place for all ages of life.

Community members also find support through an annual wellness festival, and ongoing community based educational seminars. For more information on Monadnock Community Hospital, visit their website and navigate through their many user-friendly sections.
