10.19.12 - It's official. Thorntons Ferry School has set a world record in fitness.

In 2011, Thorntons Ferry School in Merrimack, was awarded the first HEAL (Healthy Eating, Active Living) Award as part of the New Hampshire Excellence in Education Award Program.

Since then, Thorntons Ferry School hasn't stopped moving forward.

On Sept. 27, more than 500 students and staff joined 1.3 million other JAM-mers from all over the country to take "Just A Minute" (JAM) out of their day for a fitness break and helped set a world record.

JAM Nation is an initiative sponsored by Let's Move in School.

Thorntons Ferry School has been recognized as a leader in promoting healthy lifestyles and will continue to emphasize positive and healthy habits.
