HEAL Leadership Council

All committees report to the HEAL Leadership Council, which provides guidance to the HEAL Initiative. The HEAL Leadership Council is comprised of HEAL Committee Chairs, leaders representing multiple fields (i.e., health, education, business, transportation, environment, etc.), 1-2 HEAL Funding Partners and a Chair or Co-Chairs. Council members shall be, as much as is possible, representatives from the five HEAL sectors. The Committee Chairs inform the Council of progress made, lessons learned, and decisions to assure success in meeting the HEAL goals and objectives.

Overall Council Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight and direction on all aspects of the HEAL campaign.
  • Supports the Foundation for Healthy Communities in building an infrastructure for HEAL.
  • Reviews data, trends and documentation on activities to determine lessons learned.
  • Remains ever vigilant regarding the ongoing responsibility for sustainability.
  • Reviews and approves the annual committee workplans with guidance from the HEAL Director.
  • Assists with identifying the division of responsibilities.
  • Serves as the independent voice for the HEAL campaign.
  • Is responsible for ensuring progress is made on HEAL goals and objectives.
  • Willing to serve as a member of the HEAL Speaker's Bureau.
